Norsk Ordbok initiated by the publishers Det Norske Samlaget, starting with
a) word collection (from dialects and printed sources)
b) combining older Nynorsk word collections and dictionaries into one manuscript – the so-called Grunnmanuskript - the core manuscript |

The documentation project (EDD) begins work digitising the collections |

Volume III, flusker-gigla, and a separate user guide published. Further work planned after deciding to have 12 volumes in total |

The documentation project completes the facsimile database of the main archive of Norsk Ordbok |
| 2001 |
Norsk Ordbok becomes a separate project, Norsk Ordbok 2014, with increased government funding and new administration |
